Packed up, heading west, maybe to better times

The road from Jalalabad, Afghanistan, near the border with Pakistan, to Kabul is legendary. It is heavily trafficked, runs through Pashtoon homelands that harbor Taliban as well as criminal gangs, follows the Kabul River, while twisting over a breathtaking mountain pass. Returning from Jalalabad, we stopped at a turnout and encountered this truck, with women and kids on top, headed toward the Afghan capital.
