Kabul streets stay stubbornly busy

On this day I gave the slip to my escort at the fabled Shah M. Bookstore in downtown Kabul and slid around this corner for a peek of the bustle, the bad air, the traffic, the ruin, the renovation, the energy. The everyday economy, hardened by decades of dysfunction, stubbornly works through the disruptions, the corruption and the increasing violence.
