Sorry Nancy, greedy piggies are bipartisan

I can’t believe I am writing about Speaker Nancy Pelosi again, but her harangue on the House floor Monday against the Bush administration, trying to place all of the blame for the current economic crisis on the GOP, is yet another attempt by the Democrats to refuse to accept any responsibility for an economic order that bends over for wealthy individuals and corporations and ignores poor, working- and middle-class Americans. For example, see Chalmers Johnson’s story in The Nation about the same House, which is controlled by the Democrats, “without a murmur of public protest or meaningful press comment,” approving by a 392-29 margin a $612 billion defense appropriations bill last week.
