This band jumps

I discovered a band from Russia, “Billy’s Band,” which I enjoy a great deal. Led by vocalist and contrabass player Bill Novick, the group began in St. Petersburg in the 1990s as an homage to the “Great Teacher Tom Waits.” Their web site, http://www.billysband.ru/eng/group.htm, describes the music of the “romantic-alco-jazz-quartet” as “a perfect English-Russian cocktail of jazz and blues, Slavonic Lieds, rock ballads and sporadic beats of an enigmatic Russian soul.”
