Saxophonist Angelika Niescier and her quartet from Germany gave a knock-out performance at the Philharmonic Hall in Bishkek Saturday evening. The majority of the students of my jazz history and culture class attended along with a few other friends from the university. Neiscier and her quartet have two recordings, Sublim and Sublim II, though I don’t think either is available in the States.
