Veterans below, clouds above

These Kyrgyz veterans of World War II celebrated Victory Day, the anniversary of the defeat of Germany in 1945, on Wednesday, 9 May, in Bishkek. A friend and I took advantage of the national holiday to venture into more subued environs in a nearby national park, where we saw several golden marmots when the parting skies allowed it.
