Lenin under snow

Before the collapse of the Soviet Union, this statue of Lenin was in the center of Bishkek’s main square. With independence, it was replaced by the Freedom Monument (see entry for 14 Oct. 2006) and relegated to the back of the square where it is surrounded by trees. Now his outstretched arm points to American University, which I suspect would have the ghost of V.I. scratching his head.
